When Brussels gives you thunderstorms, throw a Summer Party anyway!

Despite the heavy rains last week, the spirit of summer was alive and well at DEKRA’s Summer Party! Our invitation cheerfully noted, “the European elections are behind and summer is finally here,” and indeed, the presence of so many stakeholders from the Parliament, the Commission, and the entire EU Bubble, even in less-than-ideal weather, was a fantastic testament to the strength and unity of our community.

As leaders in the testing, certification, and inspection industry, DEKRA is dedicated to ensuring safety, security, and sustainability in all areas of life – on the road, at work, and at home. Our colleague, traffic psychologist Dr. Thomas Wagner, welcomed our guests and highlighted DEKRA’s vital contributions to road safety, emphasizing the risks and dangers posed by road users’ behaviors.

To reinforce this message, we offered a unique Virtual Reality experience, courtesy of Dr. Gunnar Meinhard, traffic psychologist at Trafity, and supported by our colleague Dr. Birgit Kollbach, traffic psychologist at DEKRA Akademie. This immersive experience allowed our guests to visualize traffic hazards and understand the critical importance of safety in a vivid and impactful way. Even amidst the festivities, we aimed to sensitize our guests and stakeholders about the importance of reducing serious traffic accidents and the resulting damages.

A heartfelt thank you to Bodo Lehmann , Head of the Representation of Baden-Württemberg, for hosting us and delivering the opening remarks. Special thanks also to Ulrich Adam, Director General of spiritsEurope, and Carole Brigaudeau, Director of Communications, for their contributions to the evening and for sponsoring our drinks selection.
